November 02, 2022
Ahmedabad: The Adani Group, which manages the Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel International Airport, is planning to raise aviation fees beginning in February 2023.
The Ahmedabad International Airport Ltd (AIAL) has requested increasing user development fees (UDF) from the existing Rs 100 per leaving domestic and international passenger to Rs 703 and Rs 1,400, respectively, from February 1, 2023, to March 31, 2024.
The Adani Group airport wants to charge between Rs 775 and Rs 1,544 in FY-26, an annual increase (taxes extra).
While UDF is paid for directly by passengers, increases in the landing and parking fees levied on the airlines have also been proposed.
The Airports Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA) has received AIAL’s tariff card for the “third control term,” which runs from April 1, 2021, to March 31, 2026. Before approving anything, AERA solicited input from all relevant parties and will issue the order following commnets form those stakeholders.
