Central University of Gujarat in Vadodara to start function from June 2024

Vadodara: The academic activities will start from June 2024 for the students at the new campus of the Gujarat Central University being built near Kundhela in Vadodara.

The groundbreaking of the new campus of Central University was performed in June 2022. The university functions under the Central Government. The campus is being built near Kundhela between Vadodara and Dabhoi. The education in the new campus will start in June 2024. Around 20 percent construction of the campus is finished at present. The entire campus will be built by October 2023.

The Central University runs at Gandhinagar at present. The government has allotted 100 acres of land near Vadodara for the new campus. Rs 743 crore will be spent for the construction of various buildings in the campus. Total of 2500 students will be accomodated in the new campus.

The campus will have a hostel for the students. It will also have a library, computer center, and a convocation ground. The library building will have 5 floors. There will be chambers of the Vice Chancellor and other employees in the Administrative Block. Solar Panels will be installed in the campus for electricity production. The facility of Water Harvesting will also be installed. The campus will have a status of Green Campus. Each building will have smart classrooms. The campus will have two lakes. The design will be formed in a way to supply the rainwater from the surrounding areas directly into the lakes.

There will be four public universities in Vadodara after the start of the new campus of central university in June 2024 including The M.S. University of Baroda, Sports University started by the state government, Gati Shakti University started by the central government for railway education and the Central University.
