Medha Patkar joins Rahul Gandhi in Bharat Jodo Yatra; BJP says Congress has always been anti-Gujarat

Gandhinagar: Medha Patkar, a controversial foreign-funded NGO operator who spearheaded the campaign against Gujarat’s lifeline Sardar Sarovar Project, who blocked the fund for the Sardar Sarovar dam and stalled the progress of extremely crucial Narmada Yojana for years, joined ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in Maharashtra. The Congress party’s ‘Bharat Jodo’ twitter handle described Medha Patkar as one who is involved in social welfare.

Ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Amit Malviya in a tweet reacted to this development and stated; The Congress has always been anti-Gujarat and it continues…

Lok Sabha member and union minister Devusinh Chauhan in his tweet slammed Rahul Gandhi and stated: Showcasing its links with urban naxals and foreign-funded NGOs that stalled the Sardar Sarovar dam project, making life dry for the people of Gujarat. Rahul Baba walking with the real face of the anti-development Congress.

The State Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel in a tweet stated: Congress and Rahul Gandhi have time and again shown their animosity towards Gujarat and Gujaratis. By giving Medha Patkar a central place in his Yatra, Rahul Gandhi shows that he stands with those elements who denied water to Gujaratis for decades. Gujarat will not tolerate this.

Gujarat BJP chief CR Patil in his Gujarati tweet stated: Urban Naxalite Megha Patkar opposed the Narmada scheme and hindered the development of Kutch and entire Gujarat. Today, Congress is going on a Bharat Todo Yatra with the anti-development urban naxalites of Gujarat…Gujarat will never support anyone who supports the anti-development urban naxalites of Gujarat.

Former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani too attacked Congress and Rahul Gandhi over their association with Medha Patkar. Rupani tweeted: Congress and Rahul Gandhi have time and again shown their animosity towards Gujarat and Gujaratis. By giving Medha Patkar a crntral place in his Yatra, Rahul Gandhi shows that he stands with those elements who denied water to Gujaratis for decades. Gujarat will not tolerate this.
