PM Modi, HM Shah to cast vote in 2nd phase of Gujarat Assembly polls involving over 2.51 crore voters

Gandhinagar: Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi will cast his vote in the second phase of the Gujarat assembly polls 2022 on Monday at 8.30 am in Nishan school in Ranip area of Ahmedabad. PM is a registered voter in this booth as his elder brother Somabhai Modi’s residence is located here.

Union Home minister Amitbhai Shah will cast vote at the Municipal Sub Zonal office near Kameshwar mandir in the Ankur area of Naranpura at 10.30 AM.

Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel will cast vote at 9 am in booth-95 in Shilaj primary school in Ahmedabad.

Over 2.51 crore voters are eligible to cast their votes in the second phase tomorrow. Polling will take place from 8 am to 5 pm across 14 districts for 93 seats, of which 74 are general category seats while 6 are reserved for SC and 13 for ST. There are a total of 833 candidates in the fray including 764 women and 69 men candidates. The highest 29 candidates are in the Bapunagar seat while 28 are in Idar.

61 political parties are in the fray in the second phase. Bapunagar has the least voters while Ghalodiya has the highest number of voters. Area-wise, Dariyapur is the smallest constituency while Radhanpur is the largest constituency.

There are 1,29,26,501 men and 1,22,31,335 women voters while 894 represent the third gender. There are 5.96 lakh first-time voters and 5,412 voters above 99-age. There are 600 NRI voters. Voting will take place across 14,975 polling venues.
