NRI couple from New Jersey cancels Honeymoon to Vote in Gujarat Polls

Ahmedabad: A young NRI couple from New Jersey, Anmol Shashin Desai & Riya Anmol Desai, cancelled their honeymoon plans and came to India on 3rd December 2022 to exercise their voting right in the Ellisbridge Constituency for the Gujarat Assembly Elections.
“We’re proud to have played a small part in building India’s strong, dynamic future, and are hopeful for its emergence as the next superpower of the world”, said the recently married couple after casting their votes in the second phase of Gujarat state assembly elections today.
Provisional voter turnout at 5 PM stood at 58.80% in phase 2 of polling in the state while Ellisbridge seat had a voter turnout of 53.54%.
