Gujarat Police nabs one in case relating to illegal immigration scam

Gandhinagar: State Monitoring Cell has nabbed the accused Bharat Patel from Gandhinagar who allegedly sent the family from Dingucha village in Kalol to Canada. The family members, four in total whom Bharat Patel had sent to Canada, died near the US border due to cold when trying to illegally enter the USA from Canada.

The accused Bharat alias Boby Patel (age 47 years) allegedly runs an international network of illegal immigration in countries like the USA and Canada. He was absconding in the crimes filed in Gujarat, Calcutta, Mumbai, and Delhi. He is suspected to have helped as many as 1500 persons in North Gujarat to get duplicate passports.

The State Monitoring Cell had received the information that the accused Bharat Patel was to arrive to meet a partner in Bhadaj area of Ahmedabad who was suffering from a serious illness. He then was going to visit Gandhinagar. The police nabbed him from Gandhinagar. The police seized 94 suspicious passports, two laptops, and documents of the Schengen visa of European countries from his office near Gujarat Vidhyapith in Chandlodiya.

Boby was previously released on bail in a case of gambling in Manpasand club in Dariyapur. He was this year booked in the cases of bogus passports by Ahmedabad city DCB police station, CID crime, and Gandhinagar.

Four persons of a family from Dingucha in Kalol were dead due to cold in an open ground, 12 meters away from the Canada-America border when they were trying to enter the USA on 19th January 2022. The deceased were Jagdish Patel (35 years), his wife Vaishali (33 years), daughter Vihangna (12 years) and son Dharmik (3 years).

The accused Bharat Patel allegedly has 28 illegal passports. Some of them also have his biometric information. His involvement was also found in the IELTS paper scam in North Gujarat. DeshGujarat
