Over twenty trucks of garbage removed from Gujarat Vidyapith

Ahmedabad: Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat who is also the Chancellor of Gujarat Vidyapith, a university established by Mahatam Gandhi ran a cleanliness drive in the institution in the past two days.

Seeing that Mahatma Gandhi’s own university was in poor condition, the governor took matters into his own hands and started cleaning the campus himself with the help of sanitation workers from Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation.

The Governor took to Twitter and wrote, “Today, for the second consecutive day, a cleanliness drive was conducted in Gujarat Vidyapith. With the help of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, more than twenty trucks of garbage were removed from here in two days. Planted flower plants at the place where it was cleaned yesterday. The playground here will be made playable soon.”

A day before yesterday also he had done the same thing and tweeted,  “A massive cleanliness campaign was again launched in Gujarat Vidyapeeth today. Officers and sanitation workers of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation also participated in today’s cleanliness drive. The mind is extremely distressed to see the filth spread in this Vidyapith established by Mahatma Gandhi.”

After taking the charge as Chancellor of Gujarat Vidyapith on 20th October this year, the governor has been frequently visiting the campus only to find out the dismal condition of the university. Last month also he himself cleaned the Hostel premises of the university to inspire the students to do the same.  DeshGujarat
