Meeting held for Dumas Sea Front Development Project

Surat: A meeting was held today at the circuit house here for the planning of Dumas beach development project. Among those present in the meeting were State BJP chief CR Patil who is a local member of parliament, MoS Home Harsh Sanghavi who is a local legislator and Mayor Hemali Boghawala among others. Dumas is on the seafront of Surat located a few minutes away from the city area.

After the meeting, MoS Harsh Sanghavi said the meeting discussed the projects including Tapi cleaning, Riverfront, Barrage project, EV, BRTS connectivity and also all the topics for coordination between the SMC (Surat Municipal Corporation) and the State govt for various developmental projects.

According to a note released by SMC, the Dumas seafront project involves government land, forest land, and other lands. The project has been divided into four zones. The first phase of the first zone is going to be developed by SMC. The planning, DPR and tendering etc for zone 3 is going to be done by SMC in coordination with the Forest department, after which the Forest department will develop it. A presentation of the Dumas seafront project was showcased in the meeting. CR Patil and Harsh Sanghavi made suggestions in the meeting that the project should be developed as a self-sustainable project so that maintenance is lower or negligible. The project should also generate revenue. The project should have provision for multilevel parking and zone-3 development on forest land should include eco cottage, natural therapy center etc components.
