Bhagwan Mahavir Pashu Raksha Kendra, Mundra gets 75 KW Solar rooftop

Mundra: DP World Subcontinent has commissioned a 75kW solar-power installation at Bhagwan Mahavir Pashu Raksha Kendra to meet the energy requirements of the veterinary hospital run by the centre. The installation of 138 photovoltaic panels will generate a total of over 107,000 kWh of energy per year and thus reduce CO2 emissions resulting from using conventional modes of energy by more than 78 tonnes per year.

“The veterinary hospital operated by Bhagwan Mahavir Pashu Raksha Kendra serves the aged, injured, and disabled animals and birds across over 952 villages of Kutch. It provides medical aid and surgical treatment at subsidized rates or free of cost to the village residents for their livestock animals and other stray animals.  Each month, the hospital provides surgical treatments to over 200 animals. The newly commissioned solar panel installation will help the veterinary hospital save an estimated amount of over INR 8 lacs annually in electricity bills by meeting over 70% of the energy needs of the hospital. This will help the team of highly qualified veterinary doctors to run an operation theatre and an inbuilt ICU facility for the animals to treat livestock animals of families across villages free of cost,” the company statement said.
