Dehgam police book owner as cow kills woman

Gandhinagar: Dehgam Police registered an FIR against the cow owner and responsible officer of the municipality on Tuesday, after a cow gored a 56-year-old woman to death on Monday.
According to the FIR, the cow attacked Madhu Sonara (56), a resident of Bhuteshwari village in Dehgam for 30 years, while she was coming back home after attending the post-death rituals of a relative. The victim was walking on the Dehgam-Vasna Rathod village road when the bovine attacked her till she became unconscious. Later, the passersby rushed her to a community health centre where doctors declared her dead.
The police have registered a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder and abetment against one Mela Rabari (owner of the cow) and the officers of the Dehgam municipality as the victim’s family alleged that Rabari’s negligence caused Madhu’s death. DeshGujarat
