Ahmedabad: Gujarat high court on Tuesday dropped the contempt proceeding against nine judges of the lower court after they provided an unconditional apology. The lower court judges also assured the HC that they will remain vigilant about the directives of the High Court.

The high court was hearing the matter in which even after HC’s direction a suit was not conducted expeditiously causing a 4-decade-long pendency.

After recording an assurance to the court, the HC decided not to proceed with the contempt proceedings. DeshGujarat
