Pilot project to live-stream proceedings of all district courts in Gujarat kicks off

Ahmedabad: The Gujarat High court today kicked off the pilot project to live-stream the proceedings of all district courts.
Supreme Court judge Justice MR Shah inaugurated the project through video conferencing and pointed out that with this pilot implementation of live-streaming of district courts, “no one can now bluff” saying that their matter was not called out.
Gujarat HC Chief Justice Aravind Kumar on the occasion said that live-streaming will not only help in transparency but will also aid various court functions including the administration as well as stenography.
Justice Kumar also said that Gujarat HC’s YouTube channel has 1.18 lakh subscribers and videos streamed on the channel have garnered more than 1.72 crore views so far.
In another development, the judicial officers’ portal developed in-house in Gujarat HC was also launched. The portal is launched to make all communications between judicial officers and the Registry of the Gujarat HC paperless. DeshGujarat
