February 11, 2023
Gandhinagar: The Government of Gujarat today made an announcement that new Jantri rates that were declared last week and executed from Monday this week shall be now effective after the 15th of April.
The government has decided to postpone the effect for two months. The decision has been taken by the Chief Minister for good of the common citizen and the real estate sector, a note released by the State government stated.
Last week, the Chief Minister decided to hike Jantri rates after a gap of 12 years and doubled them. This decision created several issues for the real estate sector, builders, redevelopment projects, and home buyers. Leading organizations such as CREDAI, GIHED, and others had made representations to the Chief Minister and senior officials and requested to delay the implementation to 1st May and resolve some issues linked to the Jantri hike in the meantime. After the round of a number of meetings this week, it has been now finally announced that the Jantri rate hike shall be effective from April 15. DeshGujarat
