FIR over banned paper cups
February 20, 2023
Amdavad: On Saturday, an official from Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) lodged a complaint against a man in Shahibaug. The officer claimed that the man had impeded the work of civic officials by refusing to pay a fine for using prohibited paper cups.
The complaint was made by Mitesh Patel, who works as a public health supervisor with the AMC. Patel’s complaint stated that a sanitary sub-inspector named Vipul Vankar found Dharmendra Mali selling paper cups to serve tea. Vankar informed Mali that the use of paper cups had been banned by the civic body because they clogged the drainage pipes. Vankar directed Mali to pay the fine for violating the order, but Mali allegedly verbally abused him.
The complaint alleged that Mali then summoned around 15 to 17 other people and obstructed the public servants from carrying out their duty. Vankar reported the incident to Patel, who filed a complaint against Mali with Madhavpura police. DeshGujarat
