New Delhi: A two-judge bench of the Supreme Court today dismissed a petition filed by former sacked IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt and also imposed a cost of Rs. 10,000 on Bhatt for filing an “absolutely frivolous petition”. Bhatt will need to deposit the amount with the Gujarat State Legal Services Authority. Bhatt had challenged a Gujarat High Court order which set a deadline for the completion of a trial in a 1996 drug planting case.
