Gandhinagar: Gujarat Chief Minister was seen using the Government owned Fortuner SUV instead of the Scorpio SUV on Monday in the State secretariat. However, the other cars in his convoy remained the same Scorpio SUVs.

It is learnt that the first Fortuner car for Chief Minister’s convoy has arrived with bulletproof glasses and other technical modifications. The Chief Minister has started using it. The other Scorpio SUVs will also be replaced by Fortuner gradually.

Ambassador, Daewoo Cielo, Tata Estate, and Contessa were some of the car models that had been used by the Chief Ministers of Gujarat in the past. Then Chief Minister Narendrabhai Modi had started using Scorpio SUV in his convoy for security reasons. The choice was continued by then Chief Ministers Anandiben Patel and Vijaybhai Rupani. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has also used Scorpio SUV till now. He was for the first time seen in Fortuner’s car as part of his convoy on Monday. It appears that there shall be a whole convoy of Fortuner SUVs gradually as Scorpio are retired. DeshGujarat
