Gujarat govt inks MOU with Ocior for green hydrogen – ammonia – renewable energy project

Gandhinagar: The Government of Gujarat today signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) headquartered Ocior Energy Pvt Ltd for Rs. 40,000 crores proposed investment in the State by setting up green hydrogen-green ammonia and renewable energy project which is targetted to be operational by the year 2030 in two phases.

The government said in a note that the project will create direct and indirect employment opportunities for 10,400 persons. The project when materialized will have the capacity to produce 1 million tonnes of green ammonia per year. MoU was signed in presence of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. Chief Executive Officer of Ocior Enery, Mr. Ranjit Gupta said that the project will have scope to export ammonia produced in Gujarat. Ocior is headquartered at ADGM (Abu Dhabi Global Market free zone), Abu Dhabi in the domain of green hydrogen and green ammonia.
