Modhwadia admires Vidya Samiksha Kendra of Gujarat govt; asks all MLAs to pay visit

Gandhinagar: Former Gujarat Congress chief and Porbandar legislator Arjun Modhwadia who is considered the senior-most leader of the opposition party in the State Assembly and respected-most in the State party organization today admired Gujarat government’s, Vidya Samiksha Kendra.

During the debate on the bill to make Gujarati language education compulsory in classes 1 to 8 across the schools in the State, Modhwadia admired VIdhya Samiksha Kendra and said the efforts of the education department for monitoring of the quality of education and improvement in it are admirable and the results will be visible in next two to five years. Modhwadia appealed to all legislators to visit Vidhya Samiksha Kendra and get to know the efforts the government is making to improve the quality of education.

Modhwadia said, ‘I criticize your government, but one thing I want to say is that I had visited the Education department run Vidya Samiksha Kendra where the Secretary showed me the entire monitoring system. It’s amazing and worth congratulating initiative for which I convey my congratulations.’

Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi had visited Vidya Samiksha Kendra in State capital Gandhinagar in August last year and spent a lot of time understanding the services it offered. The Kendra collects over 500 crore data sets annually and analyzes them meaningfully using big data analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning, in order to enhance overall learning outcomes for students. The Kendra helps track daily online attendance of teachers and students, undertake centralized summative and periodic assessments of learning outcomes of students, etc. Vidya Samiksha Kendra has been deemed a global best practice by the World Bank, which has also invited other countries to visit and learn about it.
