Morbi: Jaysukh Patel, the promoter of Oreva Group, has filed for interim bail in the Morbi district court to complete banking formalities to comply with the Gujarat High Court’s order to pay interim compensation to the 135 victims of the Morbi bridge collapse case. The court hearing is scheduled for March 4.
The high court ordered Oreva Group to pay Rs 10 lakh as interim compensation to the kin of the 135 deceased and Rs 2 lakh as interim compensation to the 56 injured. Patel is one of the 10 accused in the case and had surrendered before the Morbi court on January 31 after being declared absconding in the chargesheet filed by the police on January 27.
