Ambaji prasad row: BJP leader Rajnibhai Patel facing ire due to namesake Chiki maker Rajnibhai Patel

Mahesana: Rajnibhai Patel, the owner of Nandini Gruh Udhyog in Kalol town of North Gujarat today clarified that he is not a former minister and BJP leader Rajnibhai Patel and he has nothing to do with the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

He said the public believes that Ambaji mandir’s chiki prasad contract has been given to BJP leader Rajnibhai Patel. But I am not that Rajnibhai Patel. Our name is the same.

It’s worth noting that Rajnibhai Patel, General Secretary of Gujarat BJP and the former minister had to issue a clarification after the Congress party alleged that Mohanthal was replaced with Chiki as prasad in Ambaji mandir, for the benefit of “BJP leader” Rajnibhai’s chiki making factory.

Rajnibhai, owner of Nandini Gruh Udhyog said, he read an advertisement for chiki supply in the newspaper on 18th December and successfully passed through technical and financial bid rounds. He said he has supplied 60,000 chikis already and his contract is for the supply of 1.17 crore chiki packets in one year.

“We make chiki for Somnath mandir, Tri mandir, and various other mandirs across India. We are into chiki-making for the last 25 years. We also export chiki to 7 to 8 nations. There were many companies participating in the technical bids round but only two companies were left in the financial bids round. Due to our rate and quality, we won the contract.

When asked to react to the district administration’s move to discontinue conventional Mohanthal prasad and replace it with Chiki completely, Rajnibhai said, ‘I am a bhakt of Ambaji mata and Mohanthal must not be discontinued. Our chiki is dry and it will not face any issues for three months. But let the people chose between chiki and Mohanthal. Mohanthal must be continued as prasad for those who want it. I believe Mohanthal must be continued.’
