Gujarat has 2.10 crore two-wheelers and 39.12 lakh cars

Gandhinagar: According to a report by the vehicle transport department, the state of Gujarat has a total of 2.10 crore two-wheelers and 39.12 lakh cars.

As per the vehicle transport department’s report for 2021-22, the total number of vehicles in the state is 2,89,81,181, out of which 2,10,39,144 are two-wheelers. The number of cars in 1989-90 was 1,41,584, which has now increased to 39,13,687, up from 36.54 lakhs in the previous year. The number of two-wheelers was 2.02 crore last year, which has now reached 2.10 crore. The number of auto-rickshaws is 9,30,824, and the number of heavy vehicles is 13.74 lakh.

It can be said that every one person among three persons in the state owns a two-wheeler. The state has 1.03 lakh taxi cabs and 12,257 ambulances. In 1961, there were only 8,132 two-wheelers in the state.

According to a report released by the vehicle transport commissioner, the number of total vehicles was 4.58 lakh in 1980, which reached 18.40 lakh in 1990. The number of vehicles reported in 2020-21 was 2.77 crore. The number was reported to be 2.38 crore in 2017-18, 2.52 crore in 2018-19, and 2.67 crore in 2019-20. DeshGujarat
