India – Australia match: Metro trains to be available more frequently for more hours

Gandhinagar: Metro trains operated by Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) will be more frequently available and will function for more hours during the cricket match between India and Australia.

The Test match between two cricket-playing countries will take place from the 9th of March to the 13th of March at Motera-based Narendra Modi stadium. The stadium is located next to Motera station Metro.

According to a note shared by the State government, Metro trains will operate from 6 am to 10 pm instead of 7 am to 10 pm on 9th March, at a 12-minute frequency instead of the usual 18-minute frequency. From 10th to 13th March, Metro trains will be operated during the usual 7 am to 10 pm period at a 12-minute frequency.

Prime Minister Modi and his Australian counterpart are going to witness the cricket match at the Motera-based stadium on the 9th of March. The stadium is the world’s largest cricket stadium. It is named as Narendra Modi stadium. The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is going to distribute the tickets for the match on the 9th to its thousands of cadres.

A large number of citizens had used metro trains during a previously held cricket match at Narendra Modi stadium, thanks to the proximity of Motera metro station to Narendra Modi stadium. The commuters were happy using the affordable and fast Metro train option as they didn’t face traffic-jam issues before and after the cricket match. DeshGujarat
