Live: PM Modi and PM Albanese at India vs Australia 4th Test Match in Narendra Modi Stadium, Gujarat

Ahmedabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese are attending the first day of the India-Australia Test at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Motera in Ahmedabad. Albanese arrived in Ahmedabad on the previous day and was welcomed by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.

Albanese recently announced that Australia and India had finalized the Australia-India Education Qualification Recognition Mechanism. He made the announcement at a programme where it was officially declared that Deakin University of Australia would establish an international campus at GIFT City in Gandhinagar. Albanese also launched a new scholarship named Maitri, which would allow Indian students to study in Australia for up to four years.

On Wednesday, Albanese visited Sabarmati Ashram, the former home of Mahatma Gandhi and one of the main centres of India’s freedom struggle. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel accompanied him during the Ashram tour. Later, Albanese took part in Holi celebration in Gandhinagar. The Governor organised the event in honour of the visiting dignitary and his delegation, and artists from different states performed traditional dance forms at the event, including Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
