AUDA proposes ‘300 feet wide’ third ring road for Ahmedabad

Amdavad: Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA), in its new 10-year Development Plan (DP), has proposed constructing a third outer Ring Road.

The proposed third Ring Road in Ahmedabad, which will be 300 feet wide, is planned to traverse numerous villages such as Ranchhodpura, Khatraj, Dhanaj, Palsana, Usmanabad, Manipur, Godhavi, Kolat, Moraiya, Changodar, Tajpur, Kasindra, Girmatha, Jetalpur, Mahu, Barejadi, Naned, Hirapur, Bakrol, Kanbha, Raipur, Shahpur, Sargasan, Tarapur, and Shertha.

The DP also includes aligning the Delhi-Mumbai Freight Corridor in the western part of the city, which will be connected to a network of roads to stimulate the development of amdavad and the state as well.

The acquisition of land for the new infrastructure will begin once the DP is approved by the government. Currently, Ahmedabad has two ring roads that have helped alleviate traffic congestion, and the proposed third road will also play a significant role in future city development. DeshGujarat
