Khalistani threats to storm stadium in Ahmedabad; Two nabbed from Madhya Pradesh

Gandhinagar: Threats to storm the Narendra Modi cricket stadium in Ahmedabad were tweeted ahead of the fourth cricket match between Indian and Australian cricket teams. Gujarat Police have now traced the origin of these tweets to Madhya Pradesh and nabbed two persons who were using sim box technology to circulate the threats.

Several Twitter handles were seen on 8 March with the message – SFJ (Sikh For Justice) to storm Narendra Modi cricket stadium on 9 March in presence of PM Modi and Australian PM Albanese on 9 March in reference to the 19th March Khalistan Referendum in Australia.

Such tweets had tagged the Twitter handles of the Gujarat Police and some media organizations to attract attention. Gujarat Police’s cyber cell unit traced the tweets to Madhya Pradesh’s Satna and Rewa-based illegel exchanges. The accused were using the sim box technique. Such tweets were further circulated by Pakistan-based Twitter handles such as @alijunejo662, @jeetsingg123, @ShahzadRiva, @alinakh80902422, and others, possibly Pakistani intelligence agency ISI arms.

The Twitter handles used for issuing threats @Jerry_0190 and @MoonaSingh11 among others are now suspended.

The ahmedabad city crime branch is investigating the case. The accused will be brought to Ahmedabad for further questioning. It is learnt that the accused would get money from abroad through hawala and offer the service of their inbox exchange for such messaging.
