Liquor smuggling in Govt of Guj marked vehicles

Surat: Surat Police on Sunday, uncovered a liquor smuggling operation involving vehicles with ‘Government of Gujarat’ markings transporting contraband from Daman to Surat.
It has been discovered that the drivers working for Class 1 government officials utilized the vehicles by pretending to take them for repairs. These drivers were employed by a company that had been outsourced for the job.
The police arrested three individuals namely, Renish Nijarbhai Vatsaria, Rahul Nijarbhai Vatsaria and Sajid Badruddin Hajiani with liquor worth Rs 25,000, while a liquor dealer named Dhanraj Pran Pamela is still at large.
The Rander Police received a tip-off about a Bolero and a Swift car with a siren installed, which they chased and recovered liquor bottles from. The contraband was worth a total of Rs 25,000, and the seized goods, while the cars, were worth approximately Rs 8.25 lakh.
