One held in Nava Vadaj angadia loot case

Amdavad: Ahmedabad crime branch on Sunday apprehended one Upesh Abhange, a 38-year-old resident of Nandubar for his involvement in a robbery of angadia worth Rs. 4.24 lakh in the Nava Vadaj area.

According to officials, on February 1, at around 8:30 pm, two people on a two-wheeler snatched a bag containing gold and silver ornaments and diamonds from an angadia employee passing near Krushnagar society.

Abhange was detained by the police based on a tip-off, and during the investigation, the gold ornaments were valued at Rs. 2.89 lakh, the silver ornaments were worth Rs. 1.24 lakh, and the two diamond items were priced at Rs. 10,000. Overall, the city crime branch managed to seize gold and silver ornaments along with diamonds that were worth a total of Rs. 4.24 lakh.

Abhange has reportedly confessed to the crime and was also wanted by Navrangpura and Mehsana police for similar cases. The accused has a history of involvement in thefts in various areas, and he has previously been arrested by Ellisbridge, Gaekwad Haveli, Gujarat University, Navrangpura, Odhav, and Bapunagar police.
