Surat: The Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) will develop the road from Athwa gate to the Airport as a model street under the Smart City mission.

Parking slots will be added to the road from Athwa aeroplane circle to the airport. The work will be undertaken in coordination with the police department. A core committee has been formed to develop the model street, which includes the Surat Smart City CEO, Athwa zone, and the traffic department. The project will be implemented for other roads in the city in the future.

The SMC and Surat Smart City Development Limited have planned a total of 81 projects, with a budget of approximately Rs 2813.21 of various subcomponents. 77 projects have already been completed, and the remaining 4 projects will be completed soon. DeshGujarat
