Car and valuables worth Rs 8 lakh looted on Ahmedabad-Vadodara expressway

Anand: Anand police have filed a complaint of loot against the three unidentified accused who took a lift in a car and looted items worth Rs 8.01 lakh, including the car and mobile phone, from the driver near the exit point of Anand on the Ahmedabad-Vadodara express highway.

Natvarbhai, also known as Natubhai Chimanbhai Rathva, is originally from Thad village of Chhota Udepur but currently lives in Vadodara. He earns his living by driving the car of Kevalbhai Makwana, who lives in Ahmedabad. While Natubhai was driving from Ahmedabad to Vadodara, three people stopped his car and asked for a lift, saying that their cousin had met with an accident on the road ahead. Natvarbhai gave them a lift. One of the accused, who is 16 years old, sat on the seat beside the driver and learned about the absence of GPS in the car by asking Natvarbhai.

After arriving near the exit point for Anand on the expressway around 1:30 AM, the accused asked Natvarbhai to stop the car. After receiving Rs. 20 from the accused, Natvarbhai asked for the remaining payment. That is when one of the accused held him and made him sit inside the car. After threatening him, the accused allegedly took his mobile phone and switched it off. One of the other accused took control of the driving seat. After stopping the car 5 km away from Vadodara, they made Natvarbhai get out of the car and gave him Rs 200 before escaping along with the car.

Natvarbhai reported the incident to his boss, and Anand rural police filed a complaint after receiving his report. DeshGujarat
