Parts of Gujarat witness unseasonal rain, more predicted in next 3 days

Gandhinagar: Dwarka and Kutch district of Saurashtra-Kutch region reported rainfall this Tuesday morning with Ahmedabad witnessing a cloudy sky. Central Government’s weather department India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted further unseasonal rains in parts of Gujarat till March 18th. 

According to the IMD bulletin, “Light to moderate thunderstorm with hail and lightning and surface wind 41- 61 kmph (in gust) accompanied with light to moderate rain very likely at isolated places in the districts namely Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Rajkot and Amreli. Light thunderstorms with lightning and surface wind less than 40 kmph (in gust) accompanied with light to moderate rain very likely at isolated places in the districts namely Patan, Mehsana, Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Anand, Bharuch, Surat, Dang, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, Surendranagar, Junagadh, Bhavnagar, Morbi, Botad and Kutch, Daman, Dadara Nagar Haveli,”on March 15th.

On 16th March, “Light thunderstorm with lightning and surface wind less than 40 kmph (in gust) accompanied with light to moderate rain very likely at isolated places in the districts of Gujarat region namely Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Narmada, Surat, Dang, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad and in Daman, Dadara Nagar Haveli; in the districts of Saurashtra namely Surendranagar, Rajkot, Bhavnagar and Botad.”

On 17th March, “Light to Moderate rain/thundershowers very likely at isolated places in the districts of Gujarat region namely Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Dang, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad and in Daman, Dadara Nagar Haveli; in the districts of Saurashtra namely Amreli and Bhavnagar.”

On 18th March, “Light to Moderate rain/thundershowers very likely at isolated places in the districts of Gujarat region namely Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Dang and Tapi; in the districts of Saurashtra namely Amreli and Bhavnagar.” DeshGujarat
