17 closure notices issued to units polluting Sabarmati in 2022

Gandhinagar: The state government, on Monday, admitted that it was cognizant of the complaints about the pollution of the Sabarmati River by industrial units that were disposing of their waste into the river.
In a response to Congress MLA C J Chavda, the government acknowledged it was aware of complaints that industrial effluent was being dumped into the Sabarmati and stated that the offending units had received 17 closure notices or other directions, two legal notices, 35 notices of direction, and 50 show-cause notices in 2022.
