180 hectares of forest land in Gujarat given to industries for Rs. 78.71 Crore in 2 years

Gandhinagar: The state government informed the Gujarat assembly during the ongoing budget session on Monday that various industrial units in the state were granted 180 hectares of forest land in the two years ending December 31, 2022.
In response to a question by Anklav MLA Amit Chavda, the government revealed that in 2021, a total of 172.73 hectares of forest land was transferred in 21 different cases, while in 2022, nine industrial houses were given 7.35 hectares of forest land. The government also stated that it collected Rs 78.71 crore as compensation for these land transfers. DeshGujarat
