Due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and the resulting lockdown and restrictions in 2020-21, Gujarat’s GSDP only grew by 1.2% during that period. However, in 2021-22, only two states, Odisha and Karnataka, had higher growth rates than Gujarat in their GSDPs. Odisha saw a 23.5% increase, while Karnataka’s GSDP grew by 20.8%.

GSDP is a crucial indicator for measuring a state’s economic growth, representing the total value of finished goods and services produced within its geographical boundaries during a given period, usually a year, in monetary terms. DeshGujarat
