Ahmedabad Crime Branch book Kiran Patel and wife Malini Patel

Ahmedabad: Even if he manages to get bail in J&K fake PMO official case, Kiran Patel will not be able to roam free. Another crime complaint is ready against him in Ahmedabad city police’s crime branch under IPC sections 406 (criminal breach of trust), 420(Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property), 170(pretending to hold any particular office as a public servant), and 120B(party to a criminal conspiracy). The complaint is filed by Jagdishbhai Pethalji Chavda, the son of veteran late Congress leader Pethalji Chavda and brother of former BJP minister Jawahar Chavda. Kiran and his wife Malini both are accused in the complaint.

According to the FIR draft, Kiran alias Bansi, son of Jagdish Patel (43), resident of Prestige Bungalows in the Ghodasar area of the city presented himself as a class-one officer working with the Prime Minister’s office and partner in T-Post. company. He also introduced himself as a property agent. Kiran along with his wife Malini Patel in a criminal conspiracy took Rs. 35 lakh cash from Jagdishbhai for the renovation of Jagdishbhai’s bungalow and later put his own name board outside the bungalow and also challenged Jagdishbhai in court.

Jagdishbhai Chavda (age 63, living in bungalow no-11, Nilakanth green bungalow, near Taj hotel, Shilaj, Ahmedabad), lives with his mother and wife and works as a property trader. He wanted to sell his bungalow. The accused Kiran Patel (age 43, A/17, prestige bungalow, near JiviBa school, Ghodasar, Ahmedabad) came to meet Jagdishbhai and told him the bungalow can be sold at a higher price if a renovation is done.

After a couple of days, Kiran Patel asked Jagdishbhai to meet him at a Tea Post cafe near Jagdishbhai’s home. Kiran claimed that he has a partnership with Tea Post, serves as class 1 officer in Prime Minister’s Office, and has experience and interest in the renovation of bungalows and buildings. Jagdishbhai agreed with Kiran’s advice for the renovation of the bungalow prior to selling and made a deal of renovation of his bungalow at Rs 30 to 35 lakh. Kiran Patel then visited his bungalow with his wife Maliniben and an interior designer and started renovation from the next day after bringing 8 to 10 workers.

Jagdishbhai paid Rs 35 lakh to him gradually for renovation in cash and shifted to another house in Shela area of Ahmedabad. When Jagdishbhai went to his native Junagadh, Kiran put his nameplate over the bungalow gate and performed Puja and Havan (Vastu ceremony for the inauguration of the bungalow). When Jagdishbhai returned, Kiran then told Jagdishbhaithat he himself is willing to buy the bungalow. Kiran said that he has some work going on with the Adani group and he will buy the bungalow after he gets payment from the Adani group. Kiran Patel left the renovation pending after Jagdishbhai doubted him over his claims and asked him to complete the renovation soon. Kiran however left the works unfinished, as Jagdishbhai came to stay in the bungalow.

The complainant then got a notice from Ahmedabad rural district court over a false case filed by the accused Kiran Patel for the bungalow.
