Ghazwa-e-Hind Case: NIA raids in Gujarat, two other States

Gandhinagar: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is conducting raids at seven locations in Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh today as part of its ongoing investigation into the Gazwa-e-Hind case.

In Gujarat, NIA raided and searched the house of a youth named Ashraf Vadiya in Ranpur of Botad and is now interrogating the suspicious youth in police custody.

The case involves the radicalization of vulnerable youth through social media platforms to carry out violent terrorist acts.

The NIA officials searched three locations each in Maharashtra’s Nagpur and Gujarat, as well as one in Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior. They raided the residential premises and hideouts of the suspects involved in anti-national activities and the radicalization of youth through social media.

Last year, on July 22, the NIA had registered the Gazwa-e-Hind case at the Phulwarisharif Police Station in Bihar. The accused, Margub Ahmad Danish, a self-radicalized individual, was reportedly in touch with foreign entities on a WhatsApp group named “Ghazwa-e-Hind” that he had created.

“The accused planned to make India an Islamic state by 2047. We have seized a no. of incriminating docs,” said the NIA sources. DeshGujarat
