Rs 93.74 crore spent on developing airstrips in 2 years in Gujarat: Govt

Gandhinagar: The state government has spent a total of Rs 93.74 crore on developing airstrips during 2021 and 2022, according to a statement made by the government in response to a question from MLA CJ Chavda in the state assembly. The government spent Rs 90 crore in 2021 and Rs 3.60 crore in 2022. The Mandvi airstrip project has been completed, while the construction of the boundary wall for the Morbi airstrip is ongoing.

The government is currently in the process of acquiring land for airstrips at Ambaji, Dholavira, Parsoli and Bagodara, and a pre-feasibility study is being conducted for airstrips at Dahej and Palitana.
