Harni Sculpture Park in Vadodara to open for public soon

Vadodara: The Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) has announced that the Harni Sculpture Park, located near Harni lake, will be opened to the public possibly within the next 10 days.

Currently, there are 35 sculptures at the park, with an additional 28 new sculptures to be created and several sculptures to be shifted from the Akota area. The standing committee chairman has also shared plans to install a total of 75 sculptures in the park to celebrate India’s 75 years of independence.

In 2017, VMC had through the artists created 25 sculptures from scrap materials, with some installed at traffic circles on the main road and the remaining sculptures at Akota stadium. These sculptures were created by 25 artists from Vadodara, using 50,000 kg of scrap from a scrap yard in Atladara, costing approximately Rs 24 lakh. DeshGujarat
