World’s largest 30,000 MW solar wind park in Gujarat to be fully operational by 2026: Govt

Gandhinagar: The world’s largest solar-wind park with a capacity of 30,000 megawatts being developed at Khavda in the Kutch district of Gujarat will be ready with 100% installed power generation capacity by December 2026. The energy minister of Gujarat, Kanubhai Desai made this announcement in the State assembly.

In reply to a question in the state assembly about the project, the minister confirmed that 50% of the installed power generation capacity will be achieved by December 2024, while the remaining 50% will be achieved by December 2026. The allotment of 25,000 megawatts has been made to various developers.

Additionally, 36 developers are currently producing 100% of the electricity capacity at the Charanka solar park in Patan district, which has a capacity of 730 megawatts, the minister said.

He added furthermore that a solar park in Radhanesda in North Gujarat with a capacity of 500 megawatts and another one in Dholera with a capacity of 300 megawatts are also in operation.

Over the last two years, the above three solar parks have generated a total of 4,304.68 million units of electricity. Charanka solar park contributed 2,514.71 million units, Dholera contributed 504.79 million units, and Radhanesda park contributed 1,258.18 million units. DeshGujarat
