ACB Gujarat nabs a 21-year old VCE, others in bribe cases

Gandhinagar: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) Gujarat has nabbed a VCE working with a village panchayat, a senior clerk working with the Archive office, and a Sevak (outsource) working with the Archives office in bribe cases.

Shrutin Umraniya (21), working as VCE (Village Computer Entrepreneur) in Pipaliya and Khijadiya gram panchayats of Rajkot district was seeking Rs. 10 and Rs. 20 from farmers for issuance of 7/12 and 8/A documents. On complaints of farmers, Anti Corruption Bureau(ACB) arranged a decoy trap and sent an applicant to seek 7/12 and 8/A documents from the accused VCE. The accused VCE demanded Rs. 640 for total 64 copies (Rs. 10 per copy) against the prescribed charge of Rs. 320 (Rs. 5 per copy). He was nabbed by ACB for charging more than the prescribed fee as per the rule.

Accused Mitesh Paragada (senior clerk of Junagadh district archives office) and Tejas Parabiya(outsourced sevak at the same office) are held for demanding and taking Rs. 2,000 bribe for issuance of property note to an applicant. DeshGujarat
