Narendra Modi Stadium all set to host opening ceremony of IPL 2023

Motera:  The 16th season of the Indian Premier League Tata IPL 2023 will kick off on 31 March, with the opening ceremony at 6 PM in Narendra Modi Stadium – the largest cricket stadium in the world here.

The opening match between the Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings will be held today, with all tickets sold for the 1.15 lakh capacity stadium. Entry will be allowed from 3.30 pm, with an opening ceremony featuring performances from Tamanna Bhatia, Katrina Kaif, and Arijit Singh, and a drone display forming an image of the IPL 2023 cup in the sky.

The Chennai Super Kings will be captained by Mahendra Singh Dhoni, while Hardik Pandya will captain the Gujarat Titans.

To prevent ticket scalping, the Ahmedabad police commissioner has issued a notification invoking Section 131 of the Gujarat Police Act 1951, which will be enforced until May 16, 2023.

Metro train services will operate until 2.30 AM, with BRTS buses operating until midnight and AMTS buses operating until 1.30 am, with a frequency of every 12 minutes.

A total of 70 league stage matches will be played across 12 venues over the course of 52 days.

1st April, 2023 will be the first double-header day of the season, where Punjab Kings will square off against Kolkata Knight Riders in Mohali and Lucknow Super Giants will take on Delhi Capitals in Lucknow.

The TATA IPL 2023 will have 18 double headers, with the day games starting at 3:30 PM IST and the evening games starting at 07:30 PM IST.
