ACB nabs a head constable and two others in bribe case in Vadodara

Vadodara: The Anti-corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat held a head constable of Makarpura police station today in a bribe case of Rs 80 thousand in Vadodara. Two other middlemen were also nabbed earlier.

The complainant was booked under GP Acts 110 and 117 at Makarpura police station. The accused head constable, Kalpesh Nandkishor Sonvane, was investigating his case. He demanded a bribe of Rs. 80 thousand from the complainant for the settlement of the case and to prevent the tarnishing of his image in the media. The accused constable repeatedly asked for the bribe payment through a middleman, Sanjaybhai Lakshmanbhai Bharvad.

The complainant contacted ACB because he was not willing to pay the bribe. The other accused middleman, Prince Rajkumar Sharma, was found taking a bribe of Rs 80 thousand after being told by the accused middleman, Sanjaybhai, during a trap executed by ACB.
