Golden Katar Division of Indian Army celebrates its 58th Raising Day

Ahmedabad: Golden Katar Division celebrated its 58th Raising Day on 01 April 2023. General Officer Commanding Golden Katar Division laid a wreath in a solemn ceremony at War Memorial Park in Ahmedabad Cantonment to pay homage to the Martyrs who laid down their lives for the country. The day was also dedicated to pay tributes to our bravehearts & veterans who have nurtured the division with their unflinching devotion & sacrifice.

The history of Golden Katar Division is a saga of valour, gallant deeds replete with unparalleled courage. The same was evident by the success achieved during wars when Indian Army captured 340 Sq Km in 1965 & 7443 Sq Km during 1971.

The Golden Katar Division has always strived to deliver help and support to fellow citizens in State of Gujarat, some recent examples are relief work during Cyclone Tauktae, COVID-19 & Morbi bridge collapse. The formation has also supported various initiatives to strengthen the villages under “Gram Seva, Desh Seva” & adoption of border villages by Security Forces. The Division has re-dedicated itself in line with theme of “Year of Transformation 2023” with an aim to catalyse development of cutting edge technology in collaboration with academia & industries located in State of Gujarat.
