Mandatory RTPCR test for passengers from 6 countries entering Gujarat
April 01, 2023
Gandhinagar: The Government of Gujarat has made it mandatory for passengers coming from China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and Thailand to submit a negative report of an RTPCR test.
Passengers coming from these six countries will be allowed to travel only if they provide a negative report of an RTPCR test taken within 72 hours prior to their journey. The negative report must be submitted on the Air Suvidha portal. The state health department has decided to continue implementing the central government’s guidelines, which were initiated from January 1st and will continue from April 1st onwards.
Countries with high transmission rates and COVID-19 cases are designated as high-risk countries. Random COVID-19 testing for passengers arriving from countries other than the six high-risk countries will continue. Since the implementation of the new guidelines, around 2 lakh passengers have arrived in Gujarat through 1248 flights. Out of the 2 percent of randomly tested passengers, 32 were positive, including passengers from the six high-risk countries. DeshGujarat
