18-year-old from Surat arrested for tweeting Akasa Air aircraft would crash

Surat: An 18-year-old student in the 12th grade from Surat was arrested by Mumbai Police for allegedly tweeting that an Akasa Air aircraft would crash.
The airline’s social media department noticed the tweet by the handle @NanavaPushparaj on March 26 and registered a complaint with the police based on which the police filed an FIR against unidentified individuals under the Indian Penal Code Sections 505 and 506(2).
The student was arrested by Sahar police on Thursday. During interrogation, the accused said that he was interested in learning about aircraft and was not aware of the consequences of posting such a tweet on social media. The student clarified that his intent was not to cause chaos. The official stated that the accused was released on a bail of ₹5,000 after one day of custody due to his ongoing exams. DeshGujarat
