Ground breaking performed for Purna Tidal Regulator project in Navsari

Navsari: Groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Purna tidal regulator took place in Navsari taluka of South Gujarat in the presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and local Lok Sabha member and Gujarat BJP chief CR Patil.
Patil in his address said that though 65 percent of total rainwater is in South Gujarat, many areas of coastal Navsari were facing the issue of drinking water. A third dam is now going to be built to address this issue. It will give relief from floods and supply drinking water to 23 villages including Navsari.
Patil further said that a sports complex is being built at Navsari with indoor and outdoor sports facilities, A 110-bed hospital is under construction at a cost of Rs. 42 crores in Chikhli. He said the PM-Mitra park is being planned in the area where youths of Navsari will get employment within the district, and they will not have to travel to Surat, Sachin, and Pandesara to earn bread.
Gujarat Chief Minister said the proposed tidal dam will result in 18 km long reservoir with estimated storage of 2550 lakh cubic ft of water. It will give irrigation benefits to the 4200-acre land of 21 villages nearby. It will prevent sea waters to enter the river. A year ago, the works for another tidal regulator at Vaghrel were launched over the river Kaveri near Bilimora. The works are going on as per schedule there.
Groundbreaking was also performed for the construction of a 100 bedded sub-district hospital in Chikhli taluka of Navsari and the district sports complex at Abrama in Jalalpor taluka of Navsari. The function also witnessed the inauguration of Amalsad Gandevi road and a high-level bridge (Rs. 39 crore) on the Ambika river in Gandevi taluka of Navsari district.DeshGujarat
