Gujarat police and GPCB receive training to curb noise pollution

Gandhinagar: The Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) and the state police have joined forces to take action against noise pollution.
To plan their strategy to control noise pollution, a total of 71 GPCB and state police officers attended a one-day training session at the Karai training academy in Gandhinagar on Tuesday. During the session, police were briefed on the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2020 and the standard operating procedure (SOP) to be followed while enforcing the rules. The state police have also appointed DySP-level officers as nodal officers and provided them with enforcement standard noise level meters (ESNLMs).
The GPCB and the police will work to curb noise pollution in industrial zones, commercial zones, residential zones, and silence zones, as ordered by the National Green Tribunal.
