Private agency put under black list after complains of harassments to Hindus in Surat shelter home

Surat: Following the complains that Hindus were harassed at a shelter home in the Gorat area of Surat while Muslims were given special treatment, the Mayor of Surat Hemali Boghawala rushed to the shelter home and gave instructions to blacklist the agency which was operating the shelter home which falls in Rander zone in the city.
Local BJP councilor Keyur Chapatwala had complained that Hindus were harassed and asked to leave while Muslims were given special treatment in the shelter home which is owned by the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) and handed over to Shahid Masid Medical Servant Society for operation and management.
City Mayor during her visit found out that the agency was not keeping the premises clean, electricity bills were unpaid and Hindus were targeted here. Shahid Masih Society operates this shelter home for the last two years. It has been served nearly a dozen notices for various irregularities. A few days ago, a person was beaten up in a shelter home and he was sent to a Civil hospital for medical treatment.
City Mayor during her visit found that against the claim of 300 persons, only 100 persons were present in the shelter home. The operators couldn’t share the list of those living in the shelter home at present.
