Ahmedabad: The Tarapur Bagodara six-lane highway, which was dedicated 11 months ago, is currently facing several maintenance issues.
The Tarapur Bagodara six-lane highway was dedicated by CM Patel on April 22, 2022. The 54-kilometre section was expanded from three lanes to six lanes at a cost of Rs 649.21 crore. However, the asphalt on the road has melted at several spots. A total of 850 streetlights were installed along the highway, but currently, 280 of them are closed or not functioning. Additionally, a surveillance system with CCTV cameras was installed, but many of the cameras are not operational. Median plantation using a drip irrigation system was carried out along a 40.5-kilometer stretch of the highway, but currently, the plantation is only present along 25 kilometers. The plants have dried at the remaining areas. DeshGujarat
