Gujarat Congress suspends one for attending RSS event
May 18, 2023
Vadodara: The Gujarat Congress has suspended ‘senior leader’ and former city unit president Suresh Patel, for attending the inaugural function of the Varg Shiksha of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) here in the city. Patel attended the event as the chief guest and addressed the gathering.
The Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC), in a letter dated May 9, stated that Patel’s presence at the RSS event was inappropriate for a senior Congress leader, leading to his immediate suspension. While Patel denied receiving the letter, Vadodara City unit president Rutvij Joshi acknowledged the suspension and mentioned that the letter was sent to Patel by registered post.
The suspension of Patel is indefinite at the moment. The RSS had invited Patel as a guest for the training camp held at a plot owned by him, as he had refused to charge rent to the Sangh for the ground. DeshGujarat
