Abrama in Surat is likely to become the latest Taluka of Gujarat

Surat: The city of Surat will have a new Taluka soon. Due to the growth in population and commercial activities in the Varaccha area of city, the Revenu department has taken an in-principle decision to a new taluka named Abrama. This will be sixth taluka in Surat city.
Abrama taluka will have some villages from Kosad, Chhaparbhatha, Kamrej, and Olpad.
In the year 2013, the Revenue department issued a notification of talukas of Adajan, Katargam, Puna, Udhna, and Majura and released a list of villages included in these five talukas In the last ten years, some villages are added to Surat city also.
Surat city has at present one Prant Office covering all five talukas. The city will soon have two Prant Offices. The new Prant Office is likely to be named Adajan Prant Office. DeshGujarat
